Karl Lagerfeld shot this stunning photograph of his new stylist Carine Roitfeld for the sixtieth issue of Visionaire in which the religious and iconoclastic elements work to strangely beautiful effect. The composition possesses a feeling of utter detachment while being wholly present that gives me shivers. Or is it the intensity of Carine's eyes... The guest editor for Visionaire 60: Religion is the talented Riccardo Tisci in collaboration with Givenchy, commissioning all work especially for the issue except for a single Robert Mapplethorpe photograph that was unpublished previously. Other contributors include Giovanna Battaglia styling and Pierpaolo Ferrari shooting an editorial featuring model Lea T, Yann Vasnier from Givaudan on a new scent called Religion, and Paolo Canevari photographing Franca Sozzani. The limited edition will be sold in Givenchy flagship stores and select bookstores beginning in June.
