Today marks the anniversary of I Want To Be A Roitfeld, two glorious years of following the Roitfeld family: style icon and editrix extraordinaire, Carine Roitfeld, and her two brilliant and beautiful children, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld. It has been quite the exciting year and I love all of you for reading along with the fashionable adventures of the Roitfelds. Let's take a moment to reflect on a few of the highlights over the last year:
- Carine Roitfeld hosted an amazing masked ball in honor of the 90th anniversary of Vogue Paris.
- Her friend Tom Ford guest edited the December 2010/January 2011 issue of Vogue Paris.
- On December 17, Carine Roitfeld rocked the fashion world by quitting Vogue Paris.
- We stopped by her Vogue Paris office to take one last look.
- On January 7, Emmanuelle Alt became the new editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris.
- On February 1, I decided that I could not live without Vogue Paris and introduced I Want To Be An Alt to follow Emmanuelle Alt.
- Cathy Horyn kindly mentioned I Want To Be A Roitfeld in her column for The New York Times.
- I Want To Be A Roitfeld took on a new look thanks to the banner illustration by the talented Isabelle Oziol de Pignol.
- Julia Restoin-Roitfeld confessed at last that she reads my blog.
- On March 15, I couldn't think of a better birthday present for myself than more work and launched I Want To Be A Battaglia to follow Giovanna Battaglia.
Vladimir presented several new art shows:
- Richard Hambleton in Moscow.
- Nicolas Pol in London.
- Richard Hambleton in London.
- RETNA In New York City.
- Nicolas Pol in New York City.
Julia kept busy with her work as model, art director, journalist, and photographer:
- Art directing Mark Fast's new lookbook.
- Photographing her beau Robert Konjic for VMAN.
- Modeling for Lancôme.
- Celebrating her 30th birthday in great style, gorgeous in red lace Pucci.
- Walking the runway in Tom Ford's secret show.
- Interviewing Tom Ford for V Magazine and styling and photographing herself for the editorial.
What a year! I would also like to thank every single contributor to the blog — the writers, the photographers, and the artists that lend their incredible talents to make the blog worth visiting, in particular I wish to heartily thank my brilliant editors for their wonderful words and their constant encouragement.
