Restoin-Roitfeld And Konjic At Repossi Party

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Robert Konjic are clearly the most fashionable duo in Paris. The jacket that Julia chose to pair with this dress is a perfect accent. As are Robert's shoes, the slightly mod touches of his jacket, the cut of his pants, right on. They are pictured at a party at the Ritz celebrating the newest line of jewelry by Eugenie Niarchos and Gaia Repossi. Other guests included Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld, Andrea Casiraghi, Nate Lowman, Aaron Young, Anna Dello Russo, Karl Lagerfeld, and Margherita Missoni.

Hi, I think that your website is absolutely fabulous!
It is amazing that you keep us updated - at the moment!! And I also love that you are absolutely respectful of Julia and her life (not like other websites where they find a way to post photos of her Facebook!).
Keep up the good work, its much appreciated!
Hi, Fair! Thank you a thousand times for your kind words. Your observations absolutely make my day!!! I do try to keep it current and respectful and I really appreciate you noticing and remarking on it. I hope that you will visit and comment often.
Cheers!
Kellina
I'm Loving this site, do you think it was actually JRR who commented and where else did she comment apart from the magazine post in which she stated 'comments on personal life' etc... ?
Hi, Preity! Thank you so much! I am pretty skeptical but a part of me does believe it was really Julia that commented. What she says just sounds plausible and authentic. Here is her first alleged comment and here is her second comment. What do you think? Is it really JRR?
Y'know, I can't find an apparent similarity in manner of speech (or written word) between the first two comments and the third one.
The first seems quite blunt and rude. I'm not sure someone would do that unless something drastic was written. But then, everyone does not share the same nature or temperament and someone young and partially in the public eye (indirectly really) might be used to their privacy and be protective and sensitive about it... so she might be a little unnerved seeing an entire site dedicated to her family. After all everyone's protective about people close to them and I'm sure that feeling is in place even if you happen to be in the public eye.
Yet, the counter-thought to that is: this site rarely borders on commentary on private domain.
I had vaguely heard of Carine before I came across a documentary about her on CNN and I found her to have many qualities and generally an interesting person for lack of a better word. I was intrigued to know more about how she handles her position in Vogue. Also, someone in a position of power and achievement is always an intriguing person to read and learn about.
Her family is also then, due to her largely, in the public eye and willingly so most of the time.
In conclusion of this point, this site then is very apparently out of admiration. I think it's done really well, not to mention the little you write, whether in reply to comments or in your posts you write very articulately.
Anyhow, I think you shouldn't pay too much attention to the incident, if it is her, she's simply addressing out of impression from the site and that's not really enough, to say the least, to pass a comment on someone such as 'freak'. Then again as I said...not everyone reacts the same way, she might have an entirely different opinion if she met you face to face and then understood the reasons for the site... so yeah.
Also when I read the comments, I thought, it's got to be her, she was in the UK, then NYC and she speaks French! lol
But then, Carine is French and it's very likely a lot of your readers speak French... as far as the UK and USA thing goes, someone might be taking advantage of that situation also...
Anyhow if it is her, there's really no justification for the first comment.
There are many mistakes above please ignore them.
Preity, there are so very many things that I would like to say to you in response but only about half are for public consumption. First, my sincere thanks to you for taking the time to compose this answer. Next, thank you for your compliments about the site and my writing style, you are very kind.
I like your reason for beginning to observe Carine, mine is similar. I was not really into fashion, but my whole life I have mentally referred to female role models that are strong and smart and savvy. When I first saw a picture of her on the Sartorialist, I was drawn to her. She has crafted the most compelling appearance for herself. The more I read about her, the more she took over as my mental role model. J'adore the fact that she is 55 and her power only grows.
I believe that the first comment did rankle Julia but I'd prefer not to say why right here. It is hard to remember that our idols are also just humans with the wish to protect their privacy, their dignity, their sense of self. I don't really care that she called me a freak however, the idea that she could be reading my words did give me severe writer's block for a couple of days compounded by extending that concept to think that Carine could read and pass judgment on my silly site. Of course I found a tidbit of Roitfeld news that just had to be published so I broke the spell.
; D
Thanks a million for taking the time to think about this, I hope to hear lots more from you, Preity!!
