The Roitfelds At Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Merde, what is going on with Carine Roitfeld? I have kept my opinion to myself on many a topic but the thing around her neck ices this cake for me. Et les cheveux ?? If this is a midlife crisis, this is wonderful in terms of numbers but for fashion it spells disaster. If this catches on and I have to watch a bunch of fat girls parading around as futuristic bull fighting superheroines, I'm going to hurl. There, I've said it. Go ahead and label me fatist and swear never to read my words again but sincerely—do you? Further, we are NOT going back to big hair, I flatly refuse.

Let's not allow this to spoil the fact that Julia looks stunning in Christoper Kane for Topshop. Oh why oh why did I not order that dress the day the collection was released?! Julia is simply radiant, I guess a few weeks in London were restorative. Though she does have that superhero stance...thank the stars she is not wearing a cape.

Carine's ensemble does not in the least qualify for poised or elegant. I've never been a fan for loud dressing, subtlety is far more pleasing to dignity and to the eye.

Julia I feel is repetitive in her sensibility and lacks again; poise.

OMG, does Carine got a pair of depends on under those superhero undies?

Not one of her best looks....but being chic means taking risks and sometimes having a doosey. I really hope this one doesn't catch on! I agree with your point--look, not everyone can traipse around pantless and get away with it, right? Great post! :)

Hi, Kaya! I'm so happy to see your comment. I say "yes" to subtlety and dignity. With edge, of course!

LOL, Michael, you are so naughty. xx

Hello, Kate!! Thank you for the compliment and for the backup!! I felt like I was taking a risk criticizing Carine (and the entire fat community) so I am relieved to know that it was well-received by my bbf.

I think that Carine wanted to get "Les Trois Mousquetaires" look :) I have to admit that I like it!
I saw many other pixs of Carine from this event and she looked better there. Julia - simple and stunning!

Hi, Caroline! Thank you for your comment! I hadn't considered the Three Museketeers look, that does give me a different perspective. I will look for other pictures from the event, too.

I don't care what she wears - she can never look bad in my eyes.

Hi, Rock! Thank you for stopping by and for linking to my site! I have added a link to you, too. It's not that I think Carine looks bad because she is still Carine, but she has other choices that I prefer.

omg omg omg...she looks amazing!!!!! {Julia}

by any chance, would you happen to know what type of tights she wears??

6 décembre 2009 | Unregistered Commenterthebeautyfile

I agree TBF, Julia looks perfect here, I love how the jacket accentuates the dress. The shoes and clutch are well chosen, too, everything supports the dress letting its unique rock chic vibe shine. All just right on Julia. As for tights, the only reference I have to them is when she wore these Wolford tights which are beautiful but by no means basic black like the ones pictured. I'll let you know if I see any other mentions.

{Carine} In this event, she doesn't look glamorous or even chic. And having that thing around her neck disturbs me.

As for Julia, she is beautiful though I am disappointed on the way she stand but she have carried herself well and her dress say it all.
