Vogue Paris December 2010/January 2011: Tom Ford

Woo hoo! Love, love, love the cover of the December/January issue of Vogue Paris featuring guest editor Tom Ford and Daphne Groenveld! Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott snapped the festive photo. About Monsieur Ford's reign as guest editor for VP, editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld had this to say: "Tom has an eye like a scanner. He took his role very seriously. He is truly multitalented.” The 2011 Vogue Paris calendar girl is Daria Werbowy photographed by Mikael Jansson. The holiday issue will be available beginning on November 30. Except for Charlotte Gainsbourg, I have never looked forward to a guest editor with more anticipation — can't wait!!!!!

Do you know if the calendar is available in stores in France, or if its only available to subscribers?

Julia, I believe the calendar will be bundled with the issue on newsstands everywhere, it has been in the past. I hope you get a copy!!

Am I the only one who thinks there is a bit of James Bond in that cover?
18 novembre 2010 | Unregistered Commentermike
Tom Ford as the next James Bond! Honey, you are a genius!

Also I read an astute observation on Fashion Spot, notice how Tom's face is divided precisely in half on the cover. What if this is a fold out and there's the rest of Tom and another model?? What if it were Lara Stone styled exactly the same? I would love that!

Carine avec Tom= DELICIOUS!!!!

I know he's taking a bit of heat from the good folks over at 'Jezebel' for putting a rather, ahem, young gal [15 ans!] on the cover. . .but hey, it's VOGUE PARIS! Inside I saw Lauren Hutton, Carol Alt and a number of his 'inspirations'. Couldn't identify them all but the story is that ALL of these 'models' are over 50--GO TOM!!! And it is sooo wonderful to have him back out there performing his civic duty of making the world's women look divine. Gucci since his departure has been utterly BLAH!

VIVA TOM!! He's one of my favorite fashion 'trouble-makers' and has been sorely missed.

Tom Ford has his name written in history for achieving so much in the fashion industry. He is one of the best designers around. His creation is both elegant and unique.

I am not sure, Kate, typically I see it in US bookstores around the first of the month.

There's also a bit of Bram Stoker to the cover as well. A pair of large incisors wouldn't look out of place. Almost like an add for a stylish vampire flick that are so en vogue these days.

Whoa — brilliant reference, Oncet! This image definitely has a vampy vampire appeal and I had completely overlooked that aspect heretofore. Thank you for pointing it out.
