Carine Roitfeld: Die Frauen Von Paris

Oh do I love this editorial featuring Carine Roitfeld in the April 2002 issue of Vogue Germany. Karl Lagerfeld worked his magic behind the lens and L'Wren Scott styled the piece titled "Die Frauen von Paris" (or in English, "The women of Paris"). La Roitfeld appears barefoot wearing a cape from her own collection, très osé. In the article, Carine shares with us a few of her favorite spots in Paris so I have attempted to translate the text from German to English, please let me know if you can improve on my interpretation... I must say that she has excellent taste in gifts!

My favorite shops are: the food section in the oldest department store in Paris, La Grand Épicerie - Le Bon Marché; the florist Moulié because of the orchids; and Yves Saint Laurent for my loved ones. For dinner I prefer La Maison du Caviar. For antiques and flea markets I look only in the province. To sleep, I recommend the Hotel Raphaël. The prettiest café is on the upper floor of the Flore. My favorite building: the elegant Seine-Bridge Alexandre III. An interesting museum: Palais de Tokyo built for the 1937 World Exposition and famous for its photo collection. The best gift? A Frenchman!

Moi aussi, E! Perfect for every occasion...

Uau, Silvia, muito obrigada for teaching me a new word! It is so cool that you and Carine share this favorite, maybe you will bump into her the next time that you are there...
Thank you Kellina, I can not wait to buy it! I will have an opportunity to buy it on the German Airport what a Luck! You made my day!
Oh, is it what I see or it was 2002 issue?
I was so excited to have it ! : ))) Now I see the year!
Good translation, interesting interview, I like her witty but though a little bit romantic style.
p.s. Kellina sorry for writing your Name false in my last post I did not see it for all the excitement !
Maya, I am so glad that you like the interview and I am sorry that you cannot buy it on the newsstand currently. I like her style too, Carine is a true original with words, with fabric, with whatever she turns her hand to it seems! And don't worry about misspelling anything, I am such a perfectionist that I even correct the comments sometimes.
; )
She is stunning in this picture!
Thank you for correcting our mistakes, I personally make many, especially in a hurry. It is good being a perfectionist.
I would say our favorite editor in chief is too, that is why she does her job so good : ))
Right you are, Lucy! Thank you for commenting.
Thanks, Maya!! You have given me a beautiful compliment to compare me at all to Carine. It is silly but I cannot read without that red pen in mind...
Very film noir.
Oui, c'est vrai.
"Das schönste Souvenir? Ein Franzose!" - Ohne Zweifel!! : )
Tee hee!!!! I hope you are enjoying your "Souvenir," Milla!!

How come your German is so perfect? There's nothing to change in your translation.... wow.
Tausend Dank, Dana! You are sweet. I wish it was that my German was perfect! However, it is simply a mixture of Google Translate and some good guessing on my part.
Carine is fierce and I love it!
But.. I think they messed up with the photoshop or is she that awfully skinny?!
Carine is very thin, Luci, and I think she is positioned to best display that here. I have heard she looks extremely thin in person as well.
Luci, also just noticed that the cape covering her right arm sort of skews the perspective since her arm closest to the camera looks unusually small because of it.
