Carine Roitfeld: Top Ten Fashion Icon

Style.com has announced a list of the ten most influential icons in fashion over the last decade internationally and of course they chose Carine Roitfeld. How does she define her iconic look? Bare legs; teetering heels; big fur chubby; short, short dress; all black. And don't forget key accessory daughter Julia. I love how she wears her heart on her sleeve: the labels in her closet that Carine specifies include Givenchy, Tom Ford-era Gucci, and Equipment by her partner Christian Restoin. I can't get over the fact that SJP is not Carrie. I mean we all got inspired by Carrie, but how many people copied the style of SJP? I do love her casual/ off duty looks (combat pants, cosy sweaters and UGG boots) and she looks amazing in Halston, but Carrie wins!
Oh Le Choix Trois, I must confess I have never really found SJP or Carrie that inspiring. I know I am in the minority, but Sex and the City does not appeal to me at all. Not sure why...
Carine: The photo is perfectly her with the shoes, knee-length pencil skirt, fur to make PETA want to cry and heels. Personally, her Carine-loves-Milla-hates Azzedine Alaïa heels would have been even better to show our Carine's true style & iconic pieces.
My view on Alexa is pretty much the same as yours on Carrie. I don't get the hype. I agree with LCT; like her style or not, Carrie is the icon, not SJP. Lady Gaga, I so want to comment but I am in a state of confusion because I think I just saw Jennifer Lopez on the list. Seriously!? I think they just threw her in to ensure that we were paying attention! We've noticed, now please get rid!
LOL, Milla thank you for your incisive comments! I do think the photo they chose is iconic Carine and personally I am glad it is these shoes, I think they are even more flattering than her beloved Alaïas.
Maybe I should actually watch an entire episode of SATC...
