Julia Restoin-Roitfeld In Grazia France

The latest issue of Grazia France (No. 60 dated 22 October 2010) features Julia Restoin-Roitfeld on the cover, what a beauty! I love how they chose to style Julia for the editorial with looks ranging from wholesome girl-next-door to total vamp, visit the gallery to view the entire article. I regret that the version I found is not large enough to read so I cannot translate the interview for you. Perhaps someone has a copy of the full-sized article they would be willing to share with us...

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld On Mark Fast

The lucky journalists at Grazia are spending the day with Julia Restoin-Roitfeld as she works to prepare the lookbook for Mark Fast's latest collection which he has named his Faster line. In the interview with Grazia, Julia discusses her thoughts on first discovering the sexy dresses by Fast and her gig as his creative consultant among other fascinating topics. Love the Chloé boots that she is wearing (though they are cut off in this photo). Tomorrow Grazia will feature an interview with Mark Fast as well so be sure to check back then.

Carine Roitfeld In Australian Grazia

The most recent issue of the Australian edition of Grazia features two short pieces with Carine Roitfeld which my friend Barbara Polyanskaya kindly spotted and scanned for all of us to enjoy. Merci mille fois, Barbara! In one spread titled "Women of Style & Substance," we see Carine in a variety of outfits with buying information for a few choice pieces that fit "the ultimate fashion equation: pencil skirt + hot shoe = smokin'." The other article, "The New It List," compares and contrasts the lacy underthings of La Roitfeld, La Madonna, and La Gaga as they embrace the pantlessness, formidable!

Pantless Roitfeld Upsets Fashion Universe

I am still undecided on Carine Roitfeld's lace outfit. Grazia, however, has decided and in part this prompted them to ask, "Is this the worst month in fashion ever?" They come up with some really funny answers to their own question. I must say that whatever your opinion of Carine's look, at least it's not Leighton Meester's outfit. I just keep shaking my head and saying, "Oh no you didn't." Then they provided the perfect counterpoint to this hot mess: elegantly dressed Courtney Love. I cannot do justice to Grazia's witty words accompanying the photos of this month's fashion experiments, please just go read it for yourself.

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld In Grazia

New in the Roitfeld photo gallery: an interview with Julia Restoin-Roitfeld by Grazia, among the photos was this sweet one of her with her mom that I hadn't seen before. Taken at a fashion show in 1993, Julia was 13 and Carine was 39 at the time. Notice that Julia is wearing a cool black tshirt that says "New York" in white letters, even then she was interested in the city that she now calls home. In the article she admits to a bit of fashion rebellion around this period in her life, wearing Doc Martens and wanting a piercing (which Carine condoned as long as she could go along), but Julia felt that the freedom of New York really allowed her to discover her own style: "I found it easier to build my own identity [in New York]. In Paris, they judge you more. It's hard to be bold in Paris and try your own thing."
