Happy Birthday Carine Roitfeld!

Though it is absolutely impossible to believe, today is Carine Roitfeld's 55th birthday. What do you get for the woman that has everything? To make it easier, let's look at her wish list. Yes, even the illustrious Carine Roitfeld keeps a wish list and here is what she is lusting after this season:
- Black belted coat: "slightly military, just below the knee"
- Black cape: “not too fantastical”
- Velvet pencil skirt: “always on the knee, no one has ever designed the perfect velvet pencil skirt”
Myself, I came up with a gift for all of us—today I am unveiling a new feature on the site in honor of Carine's birthday. Based on her birth date, Carine's zodiacal sign is Virgo which is the sixth astrological sign and considered a feminine and earth sign. Virgo is thought to be compatible with Taurus, Capricorn, and Virgo so perhaps this is why she and Karl Lagerfeld (a fellow Virgo) are so close. Virgos are also known for having a discriminating eye, impeccable taste, great attention to detail, and a preference for well-tailored, simple styles. Sounds like an apt description to me...

I was just wondering in one of the photos of Julia in the galerie de roitfeld page, she is wearing a white shirt and skirt.. I was just wondering if you happened to know where they are from ? x
Hi, Lulu, thank you so much!! As for the white outfit, if you watch the fashionair interview with Julia, I believe this is the vintage shirt she wears and describes in the video. I'm not as sure about the skirt, but it looks a lot like the ones by Alexander Wang that she wears frequently in black and nude. xx

Yes, I love, love the photo gallery. My hair is ultra short right now! OH NO!! :) I'll be growing it out again, ugh.
Ugh is right, I totally feel your pain. I was in a Lou Doillon phase and I had short bangs and long back. Then of course I decided to go full force Carine and grow out those pesky bangs. It takes enormous patience but worth it in the end. As long as you can resist grabbing the scissors and going back to bangs when the urge strikes!!
