Vogue Hommes International Fall/Winter 2009

I'd been thinking recently that I devote so much time on the site to one of Carine Roitfeld's jobs but I completely ignore the other: she is also editorial director for Vogue Hommes International. Assisting with editorial duties for both magazines are Olivier Lalanne, Frédérique Verley, Brune de Margerie, Anastasia Barbieri, and Emmanuelle Alt.
Girl With a Satchel features a lovely review of the current issue of Vogue Hommes International. I enjoyed that Carine states that she thinks styling men is “amusing and recreational.” Isn't this how they should always be viewed?
The cover model is actor Alden Ehrenreich shot by Bruce Weber. Ehrenreich can be seen in Francis Ford Coppola's latest film, Tetro. Coppola himself makes a brief appearance in an editorial titled "Private Views" along with seven other assorted people including Mikhail Barychnikov and Eva Herzigova. "Un Homme Un Style" features acteur Louis-Marie de Castelbajac, does anyone notice a theme?
One shoot that Carine styled for this issue is called "Plaisir Solitaire" and from the description this take on solitary pleasures promises to be très bizarre. The editorial "Héros" styled by Emmanuelle Alt and shot by Hedi Slimane sounds interesting... as do six pages with Alber Elbaz... Willem Dafoe photographed by Terry Richardson... this is turning into a must read, what a perfect time to tune in to Vogue Hommes International.
