Battaglia, Dolce, Gabbana In Cannes

Thanks to the Twitter accounts of Giampaolo Sgura and Stefano Gabbana we have a fun glimpse into the spirit of Cannes—this visual story of the witty improvisation of D&G and their favorite muse, Giovanna Battaglia. First we see Gio above, dressed to go out but lacking that special something. Her headdress is not quite right...
Dolce & Gabbana come to her rescue by fashioning this impromptu leopard turban, the perfect finishing touch. Without the previous sparkling head piece Gio is now inspired to choose a bold necklace and pull down a couple of tendrils, c'est parfait !
I cannot imagine a chicer trio! Giovanna Battaglia, Stefano Gabbana, and Domenico Dolce look as if they are about to walk on to the set of Breakfast at Tiffany's just in time for the cocktail party in Audrey's flat, quelle élégance.
They are actually en route to Naomi Campbell's 40th birthday party. Clearly I am not the only one attracted to the trio, the paparazzi is mad for them. Also, notice that in the shots above Gio is posed in front of the leopard den where Carine and Anna were reclining in the recent post Roitfeld And Dello Russo: Whole Lotta Leopard. Too cool...

I love the way she looks so natural and comfortable in whatever she wears!
I like these candid shots! Wish I was there with you, Kellina.
I must say, I'm not a fan of the leopard turban (but I still love GIO!)
sooooo chic! :)
*Breakfast at Tiffany's*
I know I'm probably in the minority here, but Giovanna is not a Roitfeld, I do not care about her at all. It seems a lot of people here really like her though, so I'm not suggesting that you simply stop posting on her altogether. Although, it seems you post about her more than anybody else these days and it bores me senseless.
I hear what you're saying Anon but I have to disagree. I really enjoy reading about Giovanna! She has amazing style.
Love the dress but I don't like the turban. The second picture reminds me of 60's Sophia Loren though...
holalala! As usual, Gio is just fantastic! Thanks to share pics;).
Guess what I received this week end, the latest Vogue Paris!!! My favorite edit is Ciara+Ricardo Tisci. I adored the DVD on models Sasha, Freaja, etc during latest Paris fashion show: very interesting on their way of working and the reality and difficulties of their job.
Kate, Giovanna is definitely a natural! She totally accepts her Gioness and I thank her for that.
; )
and WHOA just noticed that Gioness and Lioness are nearly the same... fierce!
Michael, love, wishing the same exact thing... will that make it come true?
Too bad we did not wish for the same person to win at tennis today...
!!
E, do you like her original headgear better? Or would you prefer she went without altogether?
Buongiorno, LadyLindy! Nice to see you back. The photo is a wonderful likeness to the film, isn't it? LOVE!
Dear Anon:
I must agree, you are in the minority with that opinion here where Gio is a subject of adoration. However, much more important than you conforming to the majority opinion is this fact: your perspective is welcome here. It grieves me to hear that you spend time on my site being bored senseless but Giovanna is here to stay. This is a place for beautiful things with ties to the Roitfelds and she fits the criteria. I hope you will just read around her!
; )
Thank you for your note,
Kellina
Tanya, thank you for that fabulous Sophia Loren reference! You are so right. Good eye.
Mon plaisir, Madame M ! J'adore Gio aussi (vous la connais)!
Quelle chance, VP, je ne peux pas attendre.... bientôt...
Je ne pas pense que la DVD est avec mon edition mais je veux...
; )
I will take a look at the editorial you like, can't wait!! Thanks for sharing.
Yep, Gio's headdress is ridiculous, but who cares, she is fabulous regardless what she wears! Joie de vivre - Gioness - je ne sais quois.... just Gio!
