Julia Restoin-Roitfeld At Black Swan Premiere

An intriguing new film by Darren Aronofsky, Black Swan, premiered at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City last night and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld was on hand to celebrate the release, seductive in black lace Dolce & Gabbana and scorching pink lips. How can a single woman look equally perfect in bright red, hot pink, or au naturel? It hardly seems fair. I love the styling of her hair here, the loose wave is most becoming. Has she lightened it as well? Moving away from dissecting the minutiae of Julia's beauty... Other glamorous guests graced the red carpet for the premiere as well: Monsieur Aronofsky and the stars of the film, Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, Winona Ryder, Mila Kunis, Barbara Hershey, Ksenia Solo, and Sebastian Stan; the Mulleavy sisters (costume designers for the film); Yigal Azrouël; Ellen Barkin; Thora Birch; Emmanuelle Chriqui; Chace Crawford; Peter Facinelli; Jill Flint; James Lipton; Rick Ocasek; Paulina Porizkova; Zac Posen; and Jean Reno. Black Swan opens in theaters Friday and looks to be one dark beauty I do not want to miss...

Roitfeld At Dolce & Gabbana InStyle Party

InStyle UK hosted a party to fête Dolce & Gabbana and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld was among the stars that came out to celebrate the accomplishments of the fashion house. Julia is wearing a vintage dress in black silk with a belt by Coco de Mer and a clutch by Alexander McQueen. I think that her beau Robert Konjic looks especially dashing here.

Battaglia, Dolce, Gabbana In Cannes

Thanks to the Twitter accounts of Giampaolo Sgura and Stefano Gabbana we have a fun glimpse into the spirit of Cannes—this visual story of the witty improvisation of D&G and their favorite muse, Giovanna Battaglia. First we see Gio above, dressed to go out but lacking that special something. Her headdress is not quite right...

Dolce & Gabbana come to her rescue by fashioning this impromptu leopard turban, the perfect finishing touch. Without the previous sparkling head piece Gio is now inspired to choose a bold necklace and pull down a couple of tendrils, c'est parfait !

I cannot imagine a chicer trio! Giovanna Battaglia, Stefano Gabbana, and Domenico Dolce look as if they are about to walk on to the set of Breakfast at Tiffany's just in time for the cocktail party in Audrey's flat, quelle élégance.

They are actually en route to Naomi Campbell's 40th birthday party. Clearly I am not the only one attracted to the trio, the paparazzi is mad for them. Also, notice that in the shots above Gio is posed in front of the leopard den where Carine and Anna were reclining in the recent post Roitfeld And Dello Russo: Whole Lotta Leopard. Too cool...

Vogue-à-Porter

For the February issue of Vogue Paris, Carine Roitfeld, Emmanuelle Alt, and Camilla Nickerson came together to style the editorial "Vogue-à-Porter" photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The spreads pictured here were all styled by Carine and star models Lara Stone, Freja Beha Erichsen, and Dree Hemingway.

In the first image, La dentelle fatale de Dolce & Gabbana1, Freja and Lara form a private parade of roses, the old fashioned beauties contrasting nicely with the black and white lacy knit of their undergarments. The satin chokers are the perfect touch.

In the next image, Les sexy dolls d'Azzedine Alaïa, I love how the models completely accept the lack of control they have in the situation quite like dolls. They seem a bit befuddled, but nearer bemused than bewildered. That leather skirt is killer. Have we seen Giovanna wearing that yet?

Finally, in La farce militaire de Jean Paul Gaultier2, Carine imagines a hot futuristic military look that only she could conjure up. Carine Roitfeld, je vous salue !

Giovanna Battaglia In Interview

Giovanna Battaglia appears in the December 2009/January 2010 issue of Interview and she looks ethereal in white lace by Dolce & Gabbana with her own over-the-knee boots by Christian Louboutin. The editorial is titled "Project Front Row" with Mikael Jansson shooting and Karla Martinez styling. The caption is in Giovanna's own words: "I see it, I want it, and I wear it without thinking about it too much. If I can't find the piece that's gratifying right away, I go through my wardrobe like a miner in search of the right gem." Other models included Camille Bidault-Waddington, Jessica Diehl, Anna Dello Russo, Trish Goff, Katie Grand, Daphne Guinness, Jefferson Hack, Anouck Lepère, Hidetoshi Nakata, Marc Newson, Lauren Santo Domingo, André Saraiva, Marie-Amélie Sauvé, L'wren Scott, Tabitha Simmons, Charlotte Stockdale, Lara Stone, Stefano Tonchi, Natalia Vodianova, Olivier Zahm, and Dasha Zhukova. I look forward to seeing the rest of this interesting concept.
