Julia Restoin-Roitfeld For Lancome

The first advertisement from the Lancôme campaign featuring Julia Restoin-Roitfeld appears above and she looks gorgeous. Julia is the face for Lancôme's new makeup collection for Spring 2011 titled Ultra Lavande and ultra lavender it is! Coincidentally, the campaign was photographed by her godfather, Mario Testino. Julia follows in the footsteps of women like Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet, and Julia Roberts, all of whom have represented the brand previously. Mademoiselle Restoin-Roitfeld will also front a Lancôme campaign planned for Asia to advertise their forthcoming Blanc Expert line of products.

I am not sure if Lancôme is still tweaking the campaign or if this is a second image but here is another version of the ad with Julia Restoin-Roitfeld that looks much less enhanced.

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld For A.P.C.

Special thanks to Svetoslav Petrov who connected me with this incredible photograph of Julia Restoin-Roitfeld as a teenager. Taken as part of an advertising campaign for A.P.C. in 1995, Julia is a mere 15 years old in this photo. She considers this her first modeling gig though she had appeared previously in various editorials; she also walked in the A.P.C. show that year. Julia For Jil

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld has made a new deal to be the face for a fragrance by Jil Sander called "Jil" being released by Coty in August. Photographer Jan Welters will shoot the campaign as well as a behind-the-scenes video which was recently available online but pulled temporarily. As New York Magazine points out, the video boasts irony as well: "She wears a sheer top and talks about being an independent woman." I did catch it on YouTube and mostly I am sad that her English keeps improving. Do you remember her endearing French-tinged phrasings just a few months back?
