Roitfeld Fashion Week Exhibit

Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld will combine forces with designer Giorgio Armani and billionaire art dealer Andy Valmorbida (the brother of his friend PC) to host a new art exhibit that begins September 15 during New York Fashion Week and continues through October 2. The focus of the exhibit is "Richard Hambleton—New York" displaying the work of one of the only living contemporaries of Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Hambleton's early art involved painting chalk lines around the bodies of volunteer victims and then splashing red paint at the scene of the crime to shock innocent pedestrians. He is best known for his "Shadowman" paintings, mysterious silhouettes that he painted on buildings to startle passersby.

As to his motivation for curating exhibits Vladimir commented, "I want to work with people of my generation so I keep on looking for talent, whether it's in photography or any type of art and see where it might go. Every time it's a big project to work on and I just started in this business, but I'm just trying to enjoy it."

What are you talking about, "the only contemporary of JMB and Haring that is still living"???? WHO wrote THAT? An amateur publicist??
I'm not sure Richard Hambleton is actually medically considered "alive", for starters, (as much as I love him, bless him) but I know for a fact I'm a hell of a lot more alive than HE is, and I'll bet a couple hundred other friends of JMB and KH would be outraged to hear such a ridiculously irresponsible statement as I am. Geez.
