Julia Restoin-Roitfeld's 30th Birthday Party

On Friday night, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld celebrated her birthday at Indochine in New York City, hosting quite the exotic soirée. The birthday girl is stunning in red lace as is maman in black lace; note that Julia's dress was custom made for her by Peter Dundas of Pucci. Via his tweets, Derek Blasberg describes the scene: "I'm at Julia Roitfeld's 30th birthday at Indochine: its ridiculous. Its like every fashion week party rolled into a Vietnamese extravaganza!" and later that night when leaving the party Blasberg relays: "Julia Roitfeld just worked me out... Lancôme gift bag (with mens products, booyah) at her birthday party." In addition to sponsoring her party, her latest liaison Lancôme also tweeted her a sweet birthday message: "Happy birthday to our newest spokesmodel Julia Restoin-Roitfeld!" (Only 6 hours, 38 minutes after I did, but who is counting?). For more Indochine fun, check out The Unknown Hipster's drawings of parties past including one of Carine Roitfeld.

Wow--really cool long long candles on the cake!

I know--really deep, perceptive remark!
(Not you, web administrator. Just me twitching paranoidially.)

It's okay, Oncet, she is blowing on the really cool long long candles, I understand perfectly. Your really deep, perceptive remark has me laughing very loudly. Twitch on.

Sincerely,

"(Only 6 hours, 38 minutes after I did, but who is counting?)" - you make me laugh!! Keeping everybody on schedule! Hehe : )

I agree with Alexia, Julia looks amazing!

I love that Carine has come out to support her daughter and celebrate 30 years of motherhood. I like to give my mum a little gift on my birthday, to thank her for being such a good mum. It's a great time for families to celebrate, particularly when Indochine is involved!

Cool, Michael! Regarding the red and black, I was thinking... where there is smoke...there is fire!

I do not know who Julia's dress is by, Alexia, but hopefully someone reading here can help us out with that. I will let you know if I learn anything.

Hee hee! Thank you so much, Milla! Nice point regarding Carine's support, even though she is a busy woman she always makes time for her children which is such an admirable quality. It is so sweet that you give your mother a gift on your birthday, what class you have, my dear! If you ever decide to celebrate your birthday at Indochine, I promise to make the trip, wouldn't want to miss that!!

Love the lace and passionate colors! I just returned from honeymooning in Cartagena - another city filled with bright, alluring fabrics and decor. Plenty of pics posted on the blog...

Wow!! It sounds as if congratulations are in order then — congrats to you and your new husband, JJ!!!! Cartagena sounds really lovely, I will pop over and check out your pics as soon as I have a chance, can't wait to see...

Alexia, the red lace dress that Julia is wearing was made especially for her by Peter Dundas of Pucci. I added this information to the original post as well.

Thank you for the link, Barbora! I had just seen those photos myself, I am thinking I need to create a photo gallery for Julia's party since there are so many great shots. Stay tuned!

Alexia, do you mean it is a shame that we cannot buy Julia's dress? Agreed! She really is blessed, imagine Peter Dundas creating a unique little red dress just for your birthday party, oooo la la !

I don't really like Carine's dress for her daughter 30th birthday party:too much laces and too long. She's overdressed lately. I also didn't like her outfit at victoria's secret show.

I think "overdressed" is a good word, Carla, and a bit too pirate chic in spots perhaps...
