Carine Roitfeld: Grand Entrance

Olivier Zahm shot this photograph of the entrance to the Parisian apartment of Carine Roitfeld and Christian Restoin, of course the exterior of the building is as refined as the interior. The black and white treatment heightens the impact, accenting the graceful lines and the lovely stone textures of the facade. I never realized until seeing this photo how much I desire a powerful pair of marble columns adorning the entrance to my home...

I love how clean black and white are together in architecture (like a tux). The classic and clean lines are consistent with the interior of her apartment. Beautiful!

(p.s. Last night I was reading through the your blog from the start, it is really so well done. It's like re-visiting a favorite magazine that you keep for years.) xo

Absolutely agreed, Cupcake — classic, clean, and consistent. That's our girl! Thank you so much for your kind words, I am glad that you consider it worthwhile to visit my past posts again. The test of time is a tough one to pass particularly in the ephemeral world of fashion. xo

This beautiful flat, does not have many furniture and still looks amazing. Very unique! Beautiful peaceful colors, everything seems so relaxing and nothing is disturbing.

You are right, Maya, Carine's home is very peaceful and soothing. Unlike the feeling in a lot of elegant homes, the clean openness here is calming and comforting.
