Carine Roitfeld's “Perfect Black Wardrobe"
Carine Roitfeld curated the first ever Cannes fashion show as part of the amfAR Gala at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc last week. The theme was "Perfect Black Wardrobe," consisting entirely of black dresses by designers such as Tom Ford, Chanel, Balenciaga, Anthony Vaccarello, Christopher Kane, Dior, Lanvin, Alexander Wang, Roberto Cavalli, and Versace. Hosting the show were Antonio Banderas, Adrien Brody, Eva Herzigova, and Karolina Kurkova. Modeling the collection of black gowns were Ana Beatriz Barros, Hanaa Ben Abdesslem, Cara Delevigne, Lily Donaldson, Jourdan Dunn, Cora Emmanuel, Isabeli Fontana, Kate Upton, Edita Vilkeviciute, Lindsey Wixson, and Ming Xi. The entire wardrobe selected by Carine was auctioned for $377,000. The auction broke all former records, raising nearly $11 million to help fight AIDS.
