Sample August Vogue Paris

Bonjour mes jolis, notice that the August issue of Vogue Paris featuring Daria Werbowy clad head to toe in Burberry plaid can now be browsed online thanks to journaux.fr. It is a beautiful issue and bound to become a collector's item. Directly contradicting their own philosophies for dressing, Carine Roitfeld and Emmanuelle Alt style sixty four shoots using the total look of sixty four different designers all photographed by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. C'est incroyable, bien sûr.

French Glamour By Carine Roitfeld

By magazine standards, French Glamour has had a relatively short life (1988-1995, reprising in 2004). During this brief span, many esteemed photographers and stylists have made the pages of the magazine including the duo of Carine Roitfeld and Marc Hispard. They worked together on the cover shown here for October 1993 featuring fresh and gorgeous top model Kate Moss intimating a strangely sexy woolly caterpillar... "Comment la petite est devenue grande"... Oooo la la.

Carine Roitfeld On Fashion Night

Carine Roitfeld recently conducted an interview with Loïc Prigent about Vogue Fashion Celebration Night and the video is now available on YouTube. I so covet her minimal office space, it is free of clutter and yet not devoid of personality. Note the excellent closeup of her César compression pendant as well. Très, très chic.

The Roitfelds Prefer Brunettes

I just realized that both the Restoin-Roitfeld siblings recently traded in their blonde model companions for brunette ones. Does this mean that brunette is the new blonde? Please note Julia's affection for her brunette in the photo above; she is actually licking Robert Konjic! It must be love, I don't recall her public displays with Magnus Berger to be at all like this. And doesn't Genevieve Jones look adorable with her Bad Brains tee tucked into her high waisted jeans.

Carine Roitfeld In Vogue Nippon

I don't have much to say, I simply had to share this stunning photograph of Carine Roitfeld that I discovered. She was photographed here for Vogue Nippon in October 2001; natural and polished, messy and perfect, dangerous and fun, fierce and kind. This woman is the embodiment of opposing forces.

My eye doesn't even know were to look next — teeth… eye… hair… arm — all equally dazzling. And let's not forget this is a 46 year old arm! I would love to see a snapshot of Madonna's arm at the same age for a laughable comparison. How does Carine Roitfeld manage to style every inch of herself so exquisitely? She transcends beauty tricks, working her magic to seemingly defy the force of gravity itself. True beauty.
