Roitfeld And Battaglia At Ultrasuede Premiere

The film Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston premiered in Europe last night at Notting Hill's Electric Cinema in London and Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld and Giovanna Battaglia were among the beautiful people celebrating its release. Director Whitney Sudler-Smith tells the story of the life of Roy Halston, a veritable fashion legend famed for dressing the jet set: Jacqueline Kennedy, Bianca Jagger, Lauren Bacall, Babe Paley, Liza Minnelli, Elizabeth Taylor, Anjelica Huston. Hostess Kinvara Balfour shone in Halston amidst the glamorous guests screening the film including Sara Brajovic, Edie Campbell, Matt Collisaw, Andrea Dellal, Charlotte Dellal, Marina Hanbury, Nicky Haslam, Daniella Helayel, Fran Hinckman, Nellee Hooper, Annabelle Horsey, Stephen Jones, Dan Macmillan, Polly Morgan, Princess Tatiana of Greece, Marios Schwab, Amanda Sheppard, Sacha Volkova, David Walliams, and Matthew Williamson. The afterparty was conveniently located directly above the show at the Electric Club where the sounds of the 70s colored the night, paying proper respect to Halston's immense influence on disco fashion.

Roitfeld At The Last Station Premiere

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld looks sophisticated and gorgeous at last night's premiere of the film The Last Station at the Paris Theatre in New York City. I admire the way she keeps everything simple to let the studs shine, her style is impeccable. The skirt is a bit longer than Julia's typical choice but I like it on her, particularly paired with the chic shoes. Her leather coat is exquisite, I don't recall seeing it previously.

Directed by Michael Hoffman, The Last Station focuses on Leo Tolstoy (played by Christopher Plummer), his wife Sofya (Helen Mirren), and their last days on his estate in Russia. Hoffman also wrote the screenplay based on the novel by Jay Parini and it sounds much more passionate than the average literary biopic. I would love to know Julia's thoughts on the film.

Carine Roitfeld in Givenchy at Cannes

I have been waiting patiently for days for photos of Carine from Cannes. Why are so few available? Why is it more likely to find a photo of *$%&^#@ Shannon Doherty at Cannes than Carine Roitfeld, one of the co-chairs of the event?

Finally! Here is a photo of her arriving at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala benefit with designer Kenneth Cole. Though some web sites say she is "twying too hard" here, I think she looks angelic and glamourous in her white Givenchy gown much like a Grecian goddess. She's wearing the Alaïa shoes I love, too, swoon.

However, we are still waiting for Julia to make an appearance on the red carpet....
