Remember a couple of weeks ago when I posted the article "Restoin-Roitfeld And Konjic In Croatia" and asked if anyone could help with a translation? Krasi Genova generously offered to translate the text from Croatian to English for which we should all thank her. Swedish model Robert Konjic brings his girlfriend Julia Restoin-Roitfeld to Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik reminds me of New York—full of tourists everywhere, all kinds of people are hanging around and having fun, and here I am talking with beautiful Julia Restoin-Roitfeld (28), model and designer and well known as the face of Tom Ford’s perfume Black Orchid. This beautiful brunette woman is the daughter of Carine Roitfeld—editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris—and current girlfriend of Robert Konjic, a top Swedish model with Croatian roots. Robie, as he is known among his friends and in the fashion field, is the face behind the Nautica and Gucci campaigns.

Two Scorpios

"Before knowing Robie I had heard a lot about beautiful Croatia, but I never came here even for a holiday. I hope to find time to come for the summer soon," said Julia, who lives in New York after graduating Parsons. She first met Robert a year ago, in a restaurant called Il Buco but love sparked just a few months ago. “We met at a dinner party, I went there with my brother Vladimir. I liked him instantly but he was with another girl. Later on we met at a New Year’s Eve party in Mexico, and we felt instantly that there was something between us." He liked the beautiful blue eyes of Julia and her sense of humor and kindness but he admitted his feelings only after they came back to London. She invited him to New York and since then they are together as a couple. “So far we’ve been together in Tuscany, Paris, Moscow, Mexico," says Robert who has in his past a previous marriage and a relationship with Dita Von Teese. Like characters from a romantic American love story they are fully and madly in love. “Robert is a wonderful man. We are both Scorpios and most of the time I feel like I know him from before,” says Julia who after Dubrovnik will fly to Paris to visit her parents and prepare for the upcoming fashion season.

Dolce, Gabbana, Battaglia, Roitfeld Vacation

On Sunday, Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld and Giovanna Battaglia were spotted in the Aeolian Islands off the coast of Italy, vacationing with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, popping on and off their yacht to shop and eat a bit. Of course you already know that Giovanna was formerly the house model and muse for D&G and currently serves as an editor for Vogue L'Uomo. It's nice to see that they remain close friends. The Roitfelds Prefer Brunettes

I just realized that both the Restoin-Roitfeld siblings recently traded in their blonde model companions for brunette ones. Does this mean that brunette is the new blonde? Please note Julia's affection for her brunette in the photo above; she is actually licking Robert Konjic! It must be love, I don't recall her public displays with Magnus Berger to be at all like this. And doesn't Genevieve Jones look adorable with her Bad Brains tee tucked into her high waisted jeans.

Auld Lang Syne

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld broke up with her last boyfriend Magnus Berger right before the holidays. Then on 5 janvier 2009 via Blasblog we learned that Nicolas Malleville had invited a few of New York's finest to visit his Coqui Coqui spa hotels on the Yucatan Penninsula for a little New Year's soirée. Who made the guest list? Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Robert Konjic! Other revelers included Poppy de Villeneuve, James Penfold, Sophia Hesketh, Nora Flaherty, Byrdie Bell, Paola Kudacki, Lauryn Flynn, Robin Baum, and Derek Blasberg. I guess we know who was naughty and who was nice!

It looks as if Vladimir is not the only member of the Roitfeld family with a new love interest—Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Robert Konjic were spotted together at the Serpentine Gallery party last week in London. By my count this is at least their second date, having appeared ensemble at the show that Vladimir recently curated at Collective Hardware. One burning question: why have both the Roitfeld children decided to take up with smokers?
