"Richard Hambleton—New York" Opening

Last night was the opening for Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld's latest show, "Richard Hambleton—New York" which is a huge success—Hambleton's Pop Expressionist works sold out within a few hours, earning more than a million dollars. Looks like Vladi is blessed with that golden Roitfeld touch! Though we must certainly credit partners Andy Valmorbida and Giorgio Armani for their influence.
Hambleton himeslf made an unusual appearance as the guest of honor; others attending the opening included the family, Christian Restoin, Carine Roitfeld, and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Giovanna Battaglia, Josh Hartnett, Alicia Keys, Bar Refaeli, Hilary Rhoda, Mary J. Blige, Ali Wise, Ally Hilfiger, Devon Aoki, Fabiola Beracasa, Hope Atherton, and Stavros Niarchos. Since both Magnus Berger and Lily Donaldson were there, I guess it's safe to say that the Restoin-Roitfelds like to stay friendly with their exes. That's such a nice quality. The party moved on to favorite spot Indochine and everyone danced late into the night. For Carine this meant on a table with Tom Pecheux and Joseph Altuzarra, ooo la la ! When fans hoisted Vladimir onto their shoulders, Carine kidded, “He gets that from me." See the photos of the afterparty.

best website ever!
Carine's outfit is sick! Have I seen that skirt and those shoes before? Not that it matters, she could wear that outfit everyday and it would be fine.
rabbitheart, i blush at your praise. sincerest thanks to you!!
Kate, the shoes are Alaïa and she wears them frequently. I don't think she took them off the entire week at Cannes for example, and then she wore them for the Venice Biennale and couldn't remove them on the Missoni's boat because "they take an hour to lace up"!
As for the skirt, here are a couple other instances of her wearing it in 2006 at Cannes and for one of my favorites photos by Karl Lagerfeld.
I think these are two of my very favorite pieces she wears and I love seeing them together.
Thanks for the links. Gorgeous Lagerfeld photo!
It's SO gorgeous! I wish I possessed the ability to walk down the street and lean against a window and make art. The cutouts show just enough to be sexy and pretty but not slutty. The ruffles of the dress accent the curves just right. Sooo gorgeous. How can we find out the designer??
Kate, I am not positive but I think the skirt with lace panel may be Tom Ford for YSL.
Also just noticed something just so strange: Carine is holding her Blackberry in both the photos above. I think she may be addicted to texting! Though ostensibly she doesn't know how to use a computer...
Do they not have the most amazing legs??!
They do have amazing legs and they know how to accent them to full effect. Look at Carine's ruffled hem and crossed laces versus Julia's straight hem and the simple line of her shoes.
Kate, the skirt Carine is wearing is indeed by Tom Ford for Yves Saint Laurent from the Fall 2003 Ready-to-Wear collection.
OKAY I LOVE SO MUCH THAT CARINE IS BREAKING OUT TOM FORD ERA YSL!!!!!
THAT SKIRT!!!! I GO CRAZY!!!!!
I hear you pret a porter p! She's been wearing it a lot lately, too, it's so lovely. Thank you for the photos on your blog of other sexy pieces from the Tom Ford for YSL 2003 era. I hope he gets his backing and we see more from him in a similar vein soon.
