I Want To Be A Roitfeld: Year One

Today I Want To Be A Roitfeld celebrates one year chronicling the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, Carine Roitfeld, and her two children, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld. When fortune smiles, we also check in with their best loveds: Christian Restoin (father of Jewels and Vladi), Robert Konjic, and Giovanna Battaglia. It has certainly been an amazing year and I would like to wholeheartedly thank you for reading along. I especially adore each of you for every single comment that you leave, you keep me motivated to continue investing myself to discover the best of the Roitfeld family for all of us.
The media mentions or links to the blog are also powerful incentives. Though they were numerous, I have compiled a list of my favorites of the year:
Sundance Channel, "French Vogue: Celebrating Ninety Years," 7 October 2009
Italian Elle, "Robert Konjic," 13 October 2009
V Magazine, "Blasberg's Best of 2009: Part One," 21 December 2009
Huffington Post, "Celebrity as Avatar," 19 January 2010
New York Magazine, "Les Enfants Are All Right," 14 February 2010
Vogue Brazil, "Quero ser um Roitfeld," 1 March 2010
Vogue Germany, "Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld: Jungstar der Kunstszene," 1 March 2010
The Guardian, "The Measure," 13 March 2010
Gala.de, "Mode Jetset: Die Macht der Coolness," 30 March 2010
ZEIT Online, "Vogue-Chefin Carine Roitfeld: Madame Rock'n'Roll," 3 April 2010
Das Magazin, "Die Patin," 10 April 2010
Finally a very special thank you to my delightful beau, Michael, who constantly encourages this endeavor, buoys my spirits, and comments when no one else dares. Je t'aime, mtm.
Now I would like to hear from you, what are your favorite Roitfeld moments over the last year? Which fashion choices stand out? When you think back, which Vogue Paris editorials come to mind? Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments, today is Roitfeld Day and anything goes! Thanks a million for reading my blog—you are the best.

Happy Birthday Kellina!!
Bisous,
xx
Thank you so much for your comment, E! I am glad to hear this, especially regarding the favorites. This area gets the fewest comments so it is hard to gauge if readers like it. I hope to see you again soon!
That is brilliant, Fashión! What a happy coincidence! Happy birthday to you too!

Kellina, you rock! IWTBAR has come such a long way in a year — what a journey! I can't wait to see where you take us in the next year! Je t'aime. Je suis votre humble serviteur.
Happy Birthday to I Want to Be a Roitfeld!! I have enjoyed commenting on your site, what a great year it has been! Of course you know me, I always love a good picture of Carine Roitfeld. And you can count on me to keep visiting and commenting — just keep it up! :)
I'm a big fan of Carine but two disasters she wears, is that hat, and the lacy outfit she wears with a cape making her look like a gothic dominatrix. She looks best in simple lines that look elegant on her
Thank you for your kind words, Michael. Your encouragement means the world to me.
Bisous,

KATE! I am so glad that we have become best blog friends over the last year, I have loved every single comment that you have left me. Everyday Glamour rocks and so do you!!
Cigalechanta: what strikes me as funny about your remark is that though you refer to them simply as the "hat" and the "cape" I am sure that readers immediately picture the correct hat and cape. Like it or not, we always remember what Carine wears. Is this quality not the very mark of style?
Joyeux anniversaire et longue vie à ton blog! Je n'ai pas de post favori, je les ai tous aimé.
Merci mille fois, Madame M. Vous êtes très sympa.
genius! i just linked back to you - love, love, love!

first of all this blog is a new discovery for me and I adore it, I'm not ashamed to say its my homepage....I will be in paris for a month this summer and obviously it would make my trip if I ran into Carine Roitfeld...do you have any insight into what places she frequents...ignore any creepiness this question stirs up
congratulations! you know i love your blog, i mean, how else would i keep up with the roitfelds?
Thank you, Fair! I appreciate your comments. Respect for the Roitfelds is certainly one of the key themes of the site and I am glad that you have noticed.
virginia, i am flattered to hear that this is your home page. i do have a couple ideas for places carine frequents other than those mentioned on the site, if you leave me your email i'd prefer to write to you directly.

I am so darn busy these days but promise to click your links. In the meantime, hope the birthday celebrations weren't too wild. That said, Carine knows how to throw a party so perhaps that's the honourable thing to do...
Looking forward to celebrating many more years of my favourite blog! Keep it up, it is sheer perfection!
Milla, you are such a sweetheart. I so appreciate your compliments and I am honored to be your favorite blog! I understand being busy, no worries at all. In fact, I still have an overdue email to you. I must say that the celebration was just wild enough.
