Humor Chic: Roitfeld And Richardson

With his latest illustration on Humor Chic, aleXsandro Palombo expresses his opinion and then some. I did not realize that the recent controversy around Terry Richardson also pulled Carine Roitfeld into the quagmire. Please read his perspective and then tell me, does La Roitfeld aid and abet in the trafficking and exploitation of underage models? Say it isn't so...

More Humor Chic Starring Roitfeld

aleXsandro Palombo of Humor Chic has done it again, portraying with wit the recent controversy surrounding Carine Roitfeld and Balenciaga. I love how he captures Carine's signature crossed legs, très amusant. Check out his blog for brilliant illustrations of other luminaries of the fashion world, such as his wonderful renderings of Karl Lagerfeld.

Roitfeld In Humor Chic

I just discovered this witty illustration of Carine Roitfeld by aleXsandro Palombo, an Italian fashion designer and knitwear pioneer who also portrays the world of fashion with deft strokes in his wonderful art. If you like Palombo's work, check out his book Vanitas, Inshallah which includes the piece featured here and over one hundred other images by the artist. Colorful, surreal, poetic, provocative, Palombo's shrewd naïveté draws you into his picture. Visit his blog Humor Chic for his daily portrait of society, très drôle, très chic.

Derrière Battaglia

To be recognizable from the waist down and from behind—this is the pinnacle of style. Particularly as it is nowhere near as perverse as it sounds. Giovanna Battaglia, I salute you for making an art of fashion every single time you dress. Special thanks to Fred at Easy Fashion Paris for his kind permission to share his composition with you.

Restoin-Roitfeld Opens Hambleton In Milan

"Richard Hambleton—New York" opened with a special preview in Milan as Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld, Andy Valmorbida, and Giorgio Armani combined forces to bring the work of pop expressionist Richard Hambleton to a new city amidst the Fashion Week festivities. “We have been really lucky,” admits Vladimir, “Many had tried to get Richard out of hibernation and persuade him to do a show, but he decided to go with us because we never talked about money. For us it was always about the art.” Hambleton, also known as "the godfather of street art," is considered to be on par with artists such as Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

The chic opening at Armani/Teatro was attended by Carine Roitfeld, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Robert Konjic, Giovanna Battaglia, Roberta Armani, Bianca Brandolini d’Adda, Maria Buccellati, Pierre and Andrea Casiraghi, Giuseppe Cipriani, Conrad de Kwiatkowski, Luca del Bono, Lapo Elkann, Fawaz Gruosi, Margherita Missoni, Martina Mondadori, Eugenie and Stavros Niarchos, Clive Owen, Marco Perego, Eva Riccobono, Aby Rosen, Tatiana Santo Domingo, Lola Schnabel, Franca Sozzani, Mario Testino, Francesca Versace, Francesco Vezzoli, and Dasha Zhukova among others. The afterparty followed at Armani Privé celebrating into the wee hours. "Richard Hambleton—New York" runs March 1 – 12 in Milan; if you cannot make it, another Hambleton exhibition is in the works for this autumn in Beijing.
