Vogue Paris March 2011: Saskia de Brauw

Carine Roitfeld's last cover for Vogue Paris... that is all I have to say right now, I have no words. To learn more about Carine's choice of models for her farewell cover, Saskia de Brauw, follow her blog. Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott photographed Saskia in a gown from the Givenchy Spring/Summer 2011 collection for the March issue of Vogue Paris. What do you think of Carine's last cover?

Vogue Paris February 2011: Lara Stone

Heralding the return of spring, Lara Stone is colorful in a Gucci dress and makeup to match for the cover of the February 2011 issue of Vogue Paris shot by Mario Sorrenti. The headlines promise to reveal beauty tips for sublime skin, a glimpse of the private life of Colin Firth, and Special Collections: 65 looks for summer. Note that the "Une Fille Un Style" section does not appear in this issue, instead we have a new feature titled "Miss Vogue." I hope this change is not permanent, UFUS is always my favorite part of the magazine. In any event, I simply cannot wait to see what Carine Roitfeld has in store for her next to last issue...

Vogue Paris December 2010/January 2011: Tom Ford

Woo hoo! Love, love, love the cover of the December/January issue of Vogue Paris featuring guest editor Tom Ford and Daphne Groenveld! Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott snapped the festive photo. About Monsieur Ford's reign as guest editor for VP, editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld had this to say: "Tom has an eye like a scanner. He took his role very seriously. He is truly multitalented.” The 2011 Vogue Paris calendar girl is Daria Werbowy photographed by Mikael Jansson. The holiday issue will be available beginning on November 30. Except for Charlotte Gainsbourg, I have never looked forward to a guest editor with more anticipation — can't wait!!!!!

Vogue Paris November 2010: Natasha Poly

For the cover of the November issue of Vogue Paris, Carine Roitfeld selected Natasha Poly to interpret her vision of "Love & Peace." Far out, Carine! Mario Sorrenti manned the camera for the shoot. So far I have seen editorials featuring Freja Beha Erichsen as a blonde photographed by Hedi Slimane in "Temps libre" and by Terry Richardson in "La Geisha" (my favorite so far, sexy and pretty); Sasha Pivovarova by Mikael Jansson in "Un dimanche à la campagne;" and Iselin Steiro by David Sims in "Roller Girl." Cannot wait to see more...

Vogue Paris October 2010: Lara Stone

We all know that Carine Roitfeld honored Lara Stone with the October cover of Vogue Paris celebrating the 90th anniversary and likely you saw the photo but I have a tradition of posting the cover each month so here it is. At 624 pages, the special issue weighs 2.2 kilograms and features over 100 pages of personal letters from various designers and houses commemorating the anniversary of the magazine.

Also included are fascinating archival treasures such as an interview with Jeanne Moreau by Françoise Sagan (Carine's favorite author), an interview with Romy Schneider as shot by Helmut Newton (two of Carine's style icons), and an intimate letter of love to Elizabeth Taylor from Richard Burton. The October issue of Vogue Paris hits kiosks on September 27, note that I previously misstated the date. Also prepare for a slight price increase, the magazine usually sells for 4.90 € but readers must pay 5.90 € for this special issue.
