The Roitfelds At MOCA 30th Anniversary Party

On Saturday the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles celebrated its 30th anniversary and of course Carine Roitfeld and Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld were among the 1,000 eclectic guests present for the special night. Note that the dress Carine is wearing here is of her own design; Vladimir looks very handsome wearing Tom Ford. The evening's unique entertainment was produced by Francesco Vezzoli and featured a world premiere by Lady Gaga, the Bolshoi Ballet, and costumes and props designed by Damien Hirst, Frank Gehry, Baz Luhrmann, Catherine Martin, and Miuccia Prada. The guests included Kyle Maclachlan, Hedi Slimane, David Hockney, Margherita Missoni, Takashi Murakami, Gore Vidal, Chloe Sevigny, KD Lang, Gavin Rossdale, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, James Franco, Pierce Brosnan, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Ridley Scott, Kate Bosworth, John Legend, Eva Mendes, and John Baldessari.

I'm not sure I like the new look with waves in her hair and long scarlet nails, I prefer her shiny chic straight hair and natural nails. It's always refreshing to mix things up a bit though.

I love the waves! It's a good change of pace, just to go with that dress!

Hi, Kate! Besides the waves, Carine designed the dress she's wearing, what do you think? I'm interested to find out more details such as if it will be produced.

I think her figure looks divine in it, and it is very Carine. Truthfully, I'd prefer it without the train, but it does add some drama for this event. Chop off that train, Carine!! Who made the dress for her? YSL? Gucci? She could design a whole line...

Kate, I also have mixed feelings about the train. I rather like the drama it adds, but it's so very impractical. I wonder if the train is removable?

; D

I do hope that Carine designs an entire line, that would be madness. Maybe she and Tom Ford can open a giant production facility that encompasses tasteful films and clothing!

That would be insanely chic! And just imagine the diffusion line for H&M..... :)

Kate, I am SO imagining it... the power of visualization, right?

; )
