Roitfeld At Louis Vuitton Maison Launch

Carine Roitfeld attended the opening of Louis Vuitton Maison on Bond Street in London last night and she looked chic in the Balmain dress, Alaïa shoes, and Cesar compression pendant that she wore for Armani's party in Cannes last week. Notice the difference in her hairstyle however. The party sounds completely over the top — guests were blindfolded and taken to a secret party location; DJ Dan Lynwood manned the decks before Donna Summer appeared and was joined on stage by none other than Marc Jacobs; Mark Hix provided the evening's simple and savory repast of Cornish sea bass, asparagus, and wild strawberries. Among the celebrities celebrating LV's lavish launch were Bernard Arnault, Gemma Arterton, Sir Peter Blake, Ozwald Boateng, Alexa Chung, Dominic Cooper, Sophie Dahl, Alice Dellal, Catherine Deneuve, Tracey Emin, Luke Evans, Bryan Ferry, Emilia Fox, Jasmine Guinness, Naomie Harris, Angelica Huston, Jade Jagger, Daisy Lowe, Elle Macpherson, Suzy Menkes, Thandie Newton, Bill Nighy, Gwyneth Paltrow, Grayson Perry, Clemence Poesy, Sir Nicholas Serota, Charles Saumarez Smith, Lady Helen Taylor, Stella Tennant, and Natalia Vodianova.

Roitfelds At Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week is on and Carine and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld were seated front row for Balmain. I love what Carine is wearing here as well as the fact that she can wear those shoes with absolutely anything and look smashing. She is perfectly in keeping with the jungle chic vibe of the collection. Christophe Decarnin is sheer genius, I love the military jacket and tank he paired with the teeny leather shorts.

Here Carine is shown front row for Balenciaga in another fabulous look. The lightness of the hat and the shoes perfectly balance the solid darkness of the jacket and skirt and the sunglasses underneath the floppy brim provide just the right touch of insouciance. Nicolas Ghesquiere's creations look to be mindblowing as usual and she must have been happy that the show was held in the Hôtel de Crillon.

The Roitfelds in Cannes

With Carine Roitfeld co-chairing the Cannes Film Festival this year, the Roitfeld dresses are sure to be incroyable. Since they rocked the Balmain and the Lanvin so royally last year, we're sure to see more of these designers.

Look at how beautifully Julia Restoin-Roitfeld has done so of late, not in the black on black we crave, but in glistening emerald Balmain at the Museum of Natural History's Winter Dance...

Then of course she looked amazing in sizzling hot pink Balmain to fête the David Lynch/Christian Louboutin Opening at The Garage in Moscow.

All this goodness aside, I'd like to see the Roitfelds spend Cannes clad head to toe in Alaïa. Though Carine is sublime in the Alaïa shoes in the first photo, I vote for all-Alaïa ensembles for both to help sooth the insults he received from some people with regard to the Met charity. I don't even want to add to it by voicing the actual rudeness displayed by some people, but Julia and Carine are lovely in Alaïa and j'adore the sentiment.
