Carine Roitfeld For Diane Von Furstenberg Fall/Winter 2013

Diane Von Furstenberg picked quite the team for her Fall/Winter 2013 advertising campaign: Carine Roitfeld styled the images as modeled by Daria Werbowy and photographed by Sebastian Faena. Laird + Partners provided creative oversight for the campaign. Carine amped up the glamour of the classic designs of Diane Von Furstenberg, with the focus on the Sutra bag, a stellar new offering by DVF. As the designer herself sees it, "This campaign, like the collection it represents, is really about getting back to our roots. It is about empowering women to be the rock star and the muse of their own lives." Who better than Carine Roitfeld to embody this image?

Vogue Paris 2011 Calendar Preview

Time for a new Vogue Paris calendar and thanks to the VP web site we have a look at the cover. It appears as though fashion did not actually play a role in this year's calendar starring Daria Werbowy wearing jewelry by Louis Vuitton and little else. Mikael Jansson photographed the 2011 calendar.

Vogue Paris February 2010: Daria Werbowy

Sheesh, so much for joining the ranks of the privileged Vogue Paris subscriber... I have yet to receive my initial issue though I see in the online forums that others have had their copies for a couple of days now. Harrumph. Also it seems that the rumors that we would see new blood on this cover were false—though it is a beauty, the model is standby Daria Werbowy in Prada Spring/Summer 2010 shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. I am excited to read that there is an interview with Tom Ford and an article with Kate Moss regarding her collaboration with Longchamp. [By the way, is she working for Vogue Paris as an editor now?] The image below is from the editorial "Vogue-à-Porter" styled by Carine Roitfeld, Emmanuelle Alt, and Camilla Nickerson.

Roitfeld In Marrakech

The legendary hotel La Mamounia opened its famous doors last week after a three year closure and Carine Roitfeld was one of the many luminaries that checked in to celebrate the return of this Moroccan delight. The evening's entertainment included Cirque du Soleil and José Carreras and afterhours in the hotel lounge, Churchill Bar, a few of the stellar karaoke singers taking the stage were Carine Roitfeld, Matthew Williamson, Daria Werbowy, Inez van Lamsweerde, and Vinoodh Matadin. The party guests included Miranda Kerr, Orlando Bloom, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bryan Ferry, Juliette Binoche, and Adrien Brody. The hotel was redesigned by the acclaimed Jacques Garcia while closed; he also did Hôtel Costes in Paris. Among many other notable facts: La Mamounia was the setting for Alfred Hitchcock's amazing film The Man Who Knew Too Much.

Vogue Paris August 2009: Daria Werbowy

Hmmm, does Carine Roitfeld have a new favorite model? Daria Werbowy is featured on the cover of Vogue Paris for August 2009 and appeared on the May cover as well. They used the same photographers again, too, Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The theme is decidedly Burberry and it sounds like a fun issue. Inside are editorials such as "Call Me!" inspired by Blondie's style and "French On Top" featuring six models native to France. Subscribers will receive a special bonus DVD, "Vogue Backstage: In the steps of a famous makeup artist, Peter Philips in 80 days"; sneak a peek at the video on vogue.fr.
